Starting in , Von Osten began parading “Clever Hans” all over Germany to show off the horse’s mathematical proficiency. As word of the spectacle spread, Hans’ free exhibitions began drawing larger and larger crowds of curious onlookers. They were seldom disappointed. Little Hans was a 5-year-old boy with a phobia of horses. Like all clinical case studies, the primary aim was to treat the phobia. However, Freud's therapeutic input in this case was minimal, and a secondary aim was to explore what factors might have led to the phobia in the first place, and what factors led to its remission.

The case of Little Hans is perhaps the best known of Sigmund Freud ’s case studies. The study details the life of a five year old boy whose father sought help from Freud for his fear of horses. The real Han Gan lived 1, years ago, and loved to paint horses. One of his beautiful paintings is reproduced at the back of the book. Chen Jiang Hong painted the illustrations for this book directly on silk, using Han Gan's technique.

Ages /5(10). The Magic Horse of Han Gan is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Chen Jiang Hong. It chronicles the life of Han Gan, a historical painter from China. May, at least in my part of the world is Asian Heritage Month, which I plan to read one children's book, particularly a biography, which pertains to the subject everyday this month/5.

This children's picture book tells the story of Han Gan (), a Tang Dynasty painter known for his portraits of horses. A grand general asked Han to draw a horse, which then came to life, left the painting, and accompanied the general on battle fields.

After many battles, though, the horse tires of the blood and death, and so Han Gan wakes one day to find that a sixth has joined the five horses he painted the day before. The youthful but dignified painter, the glowering warrior and especially the succession of Horses of Han book, proud, subtly hued horses will have a powerful impact on young audiences.

The Magic Horse of Han Gan is quite a large book at 36 pages long and approximately /2 inches wide and 10 inches tall. Originally published in French as Le Cheval Magique de Han Gan (), it was recently released in English through Enchanted Lion Horses of Han book ().

The story is slightly confusing because it begins with biographical information about Han Gan’s life, then flows into the legend of the horse. I appreciated the end note explaining that Han Gan really existed, but the story of the horse is a legend.

The tombs had vaulted roofs and were enclosed in huge earthen mounds that still stand centuries after their contents were looted. Han Gan's creation, a horse that could be ridden by the most demanding soldier-warrior, also has emotion and intellect, enough so, that he ultimately makes the choice to live in the imagined world of the painter rather than the world of suffering created by the warrior class/5(3).

The War of the Heavenly Horses or the Han–Dayuan war was a military conflict fought in BC and BC between the Chinese Han dynasty and Dayuan (in Central Asia, around Uzbekistan, east of Persia). This isn't a mystical skill. Anyone who spends time around horses can learn to tune in to their unique forms of nonverbal communication. It may take some time and attention, but a better understanding of the language of horses will improve your horsemanship skills, and you'll be able to read your horse more clearly and fine-tune your training and handling .
